Clark-Garwood Field Hockey, represented by volunteers, will promote the growth of the sport of Field Hockey by organizing and sustaining League Play, exhibiting fairness and sportsmanship to the enjoyment of its affiliated clubs, teams, players, coaches, umpires, parents and the public while recruiting and developing local young players.

Our Story

Once upon a time in the not-so-distant year of 2022, a group of energetic youths armed with nothing but enthusiasm and a questionable sense of direction decided it was time to hit the field. Inspired by a YouTube video of penguins playing hockey (or was it sliding on ice?), they banded together and declared, “Let there be field hockey!”

With sticks in hand and an infectious spirit, they transformed an ordinary patch of grass into a battleground of epic stick clashes and imaginative play strategies. Thus, Clark-Garwood Field Hockey was born. At first, it was a comedy of errors—sticks were often used as magic wands, and the ball sometimes got mistaken for a runaway gnome. But what we lacked in precision, we more than made up for in sheer fun and camaraderie.

Guided by Coach Uros —who firmly believes in the power of snacks and dramatic pre-game speeches—we’ve grown from a ragtag bunch to a team that embodies the heart and soul of true champions. Whether it’s dodging imaginary dragons or mastering the art of the “spin-o-rama,” every practice is an adventure and every game, a tale worth telling.

We’re more than just a team; we’re a family. United by our passion for the game and an unyielding belief that laughter is the best warm-up, Clark-Garwood Field Hockey is here to conquer the field—one hilarious misstep at a time.
